I know it's taken me long enough :O)
Happy Birthday Oliver!
3 yrs old...
it was just really great because I know he felt loved, special, and just so happy to have so many fun people surrounding him.
We took him to the zoo earlier in the day, so you'll see pictures of that below!
He is crazy into construction "stuff": workers, machines, shovels, dirt, etc.....
As most of you know, we are surrounded by that EVERYWHERE around here...so that is how we decided to make him the dump truck cake...he really really thought that was cool!
I loved it so much because the kids seemed to Really enjoy themselves! Birthdays before this have been mostly for the parents...so it just made me so happy that the kids enjoyed themselves so much....they went to town with all of the tackling, laughing, and hitting (with balloons:O)...
they seriously were going CRAZY with all of the balloons.
I realized the afternoon before his birthday that we hadn't "planned" anything...so I emailed Oliver's playschool friends and just invited anybody who walked by the house to join us (we live in a courtyard, so we all know each other anyway :O)... We ended up with quite the crowd, and it was just really really fun!
Thanks everybody who could make it...even on such short notice :O)
sorry, this is kind of random...but it was in with oliver's birthday pics, so I just added it here. Turtles are my favorite animal. Oliver got these shoes when he was a newborn, but he never wore them....Eliza wears them now...and they are just darling on her. SO CUTE!

ZOOOOOOO!!!
oliver's birthday continued :O)
His grandma katz gave him some money for his birthday and he decided to spend it on the train ride at the zoo.
I honestly have never seen 8 dollars make a kid so happy in my life! He could have ridden that train alllllll day long! He was in heaven, complete bliss! He loved it so much, and it made Aaron and I so happy to see him just GLOW! I tell you, the joys of parenthood were reaped at this very moment! Hopefully there are lots more of these moments to come!
Oliver hard at work....
finally a hair-do that doesn't phase sister eliza!
Here he is placing a stake in the ground, and hammering it in (with his plastic, bob the builder hammer :O)...
He was carrying on conversations with the men at work, and they got such a kick out of him trying to follow exactly what they were doing....he loved that they would take a few minutes to talk to him and tell him what they were doing.
SISTER SUZY-Q
she is definitely a "gatherer". Often times you will find her gathering the children's shoes from the courtyard. She wanders to their back patios, finds as many pairs of shoes as she can carry, and then takes them somewhere else...
she puts as many things into one hand as she possibly can hold; we think she does this so that she can still use her other hand for other "projects"...
Morning time at the KATZ household!often times this is a stressful time of day...both kids are hungry, and I never know which one to start with because they both need something "NOW!"
This morning was no different.
However, Aaron made a request that he wished eliza could feed herself with a spoon. To that, I said, let's see what happens if we let her try it out.
SHE WAS A PRO!
No more feeding eliza her cereal, she is on her own. This will seriously ease our morning stress about 10-fold!
it seriously was amazing!
using her tongue to get the cheerio off her shoulder....CUTE!
finally a hair-do that doesn't phase sister eliza!
Let the fun "hair-doing" begin....
